A practice piece using my custom merch dithering setup for screen printing and DTG / DTF printing, inspired by local legends Godflesh and their album, Streetcleaner.
I found this image on Adobe Stock but the lighting was too flat for this composition, so I did some directional re-light painting on the crucifix which I’m really happy with; painting in a backlit / rim-lit style of lighting helps creates a more visually interesting composition with repeating line of dark and light, and creates a more melodramatic piece. I also painted some embers over His eyes for a bit more edginess and playfulness between the atmosphere and subject.
Anyway go listen to Godflesh, especially if you’re from Birmingham!
