ECHOS

CRUCIFIX

A simple merchandise design for Echos, as part of their album release, "Quiet, In Your Service".

This merchandise piece features a custom bespoke blackletter logotype I made for Echos, made completely from scratch. The majority of blackletter and old-english typefaces have a hand-drawn and organic feel to them, and we were looking to create something more modern, so I created this heavily gridded geometric logotype to combat the looser feel of alternatives.

The back print features the emblem for the album, which was a cross or crucifix derived from this logotype, made up of elements and shapes from the text to create a uniform and cohesive look. This emblem repeats throughout the albums vinyl packaging as well as numerous merchandise pieces, This crucifix variant has a subtle grainy neon-sign styled effect applied to it.
